Britten Symphonia visit Barrington

6th March 2020

What a fantastic end to World Book Day and week!

Britten Sinfonia came in to perform the story of Billy and the Beast, a book by Nadia Shireen that the children had read on World Book Day. The children were captivated by the story teller, but also the musical sounds from the clarinet, trombone, double bass, piano and violin. The instrumentalists really involved the children in the performance and we all joined in the actions for the "rumble in my tumble" which culminated in a performance in three parts led by the "willing" volunteers, Mrs Burge, Mrs McGregor and Mr Jones.

After break, all the year 1 and 2 children took part in a very fun and lively workshop with the musicians.

It is always good to listen to high quality live music, but Britten Sinfonia were exceptional and we can't wait to see if we can have them back for a second visit!
