Oracy School Sharing Day

29th June 2018
Since January we have been working on an Oracy project with two other local primary schools. We have been working hard to develop all of the children’s speaking and listening skills. Over the past few weeks each class has been working on a different oracy project and we held an event in school so that each class could share their work with the rest of the school. As well as giving the children a chance to share this gave the children an audience for their work. The children in Class One had been learning how to retell a familiar story and they worked in small teams to retell the story of The Rainbow Fish. Class Two have been learning how to put together a reasoned argument and used the characters from the story of The Snail and the Whale to debate whether the snail wanted to go round the world with the whale. Class Three have been learning how to ask and answer questions in interviews and Class Four made radio interviews for Mayan artifacts.
