Orange Class 2020-21

Hello to everyone in Orange Class,

It has been an absolute joy to welcome you all back into school and to see every child enter with a smile into our new learning environment.

Despite the strangeness of staggered arrival and pick-up times; bubble-only playtimes; zoom assemblies and carefully organised routines around school: the same cheerful, optimistic and caring community of Barrington is very much present.

We are very excited about how we will develop your child's learning this year through an evolving outdoor learning environment for KS1 plus an-ever-developing continuous learning provision indoor environment. More about this style of teaching and learning will be forwarded to you in due course but we have spent many hours reading and watching experienced educational practitioners and endless shopping and bargaining to enhance the environment and resources for this. We firmly believe that our children will develop a greater curiosity and imagination together with an increased desire to learn effectively through stimulating environments that foster child-led, child-initiated plus adult-initiated learning opportunities.

Your child would have had similar experiences in Mrs Hayes’ class and we are developing ways to create a specific Year 1 and Year 2 identity that provides enhanced provision suitable for each year groups' learning outcomes.

We look forward to working closely and co-operatively with yourselves to maximise your child’s school experience.

Best wishes,

Mrs Avant & Mrs Beswick (ably assisted by Ms McCabe & Mrs Wiseman)

Below you will find phonics phoneme finders and links to the actual songs that we use in school.
Here is an important message from Mrs Beswick:

Good afternoon everyone,

Below you will see the google classroom video with instructions on how to access your child's assignments and how to send them back to the class teacher.

You will also be sent an email from school with your child's username and intake number (the year they started at Barrington; 18 or 19), password and class code which is drha6o4

When you have entered your child's username and password, if you have a 'g mail' account already set up on your device, it will automatically default to your personal account and so may come back with an error message saying 'class cannot be found'.

If this happens, you will need to make sure that you have signed out of your personal account before your child will be able to see their class. If in doubt, when logging in, look to the top right hand side where there will be a symbol for your account and you can either log out here or add another account and then follow the instructions to log your child in.

Remember, if you have any issues please get in touch and we will help as soon as we can.

Mrs Beswick
