Our School Travel Plan
Travelling to and from School
We would like our children to walk to school wherever possible.
We encourage everyone to travel to school either on foot, or by a sustainable means of transport. Cycling and scooting are all great ways to get to school!
We introduce our youngest children in Class One to balance ability sessions to get them started on two wheels. We then run safer cycling courses for pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 every year. During the year our Junior Travel Ambassadors run regular activities to remind all the children how to stay safe on the way to and from school.
We provide safe cycle and scooter storage in school. Just bring along a lock.
If you have no alternative to driving by car, we encourage you to share lifts wherever possible and consider parking further away from school to ensure that your children get a short healthy walk to school, and that children walking to school are safer. Please be aware that there is no parking directly outside school at drop off and collection times. This is for the safety of all the children and to enable the school bus to stop directly outside the school gates to drop pupils off.
