World Book Day

7th March 2019

World Book Day

Thursday 7th March was World Book Day, and as normal, the staff and pupils came to school dressed as characters from children’s books. A great deal of effort went into their outfits and they looked amazing!

During the week of world book week we have been holding a sponsored read, with the children challenged to log every minute of reading they do during that week, both in school and at home. All the money raised from out sponsored read will go towards buying some lovely new books ready to go on the shelves of our new school library, once the building work is finished.

We were extremely lucky to have a visit from author and illustrator Matty Long as part of our World Book Day celebrations. He spent time with each class and taught them how to draw the characters from some of his books. The adults and children worked together to follow Matty’s instructions and we were all extremely proud of the drawings we did. A display of them can be seen in the phone box on Glebe Road.
