This month we have also had an Eco week in school organised by the children in the Eco Ministry. During the week we have had a range of activities to encourage all of our children to be more environmentally aware and to help the Eco Ministry complete their challenge for this school year of encouraging more wildlife into the school grounds. We have had recycling activities and workshops, planted a wildflower meadow and new hedge and installed hedgehog houses in the school grounds. Everyone has been trying to travel to school in a more environmentally friendly way and we a no electricity day, where we tried not to use any devices in class that need electricity – including computers, screen and electric lights. We had assumed that it would be the computers that staff and children would miss the most – however in several of our classrooms it was very difficult working without electric lights even on a sunny day!!
