English Heritage Schools Award

14th March 2022
Over the past year we have been involved in a project with English Heritage, called When Cambridge Sings. We have been part of a group of schools working with the folk group, The Young Uns to write songs about the local history of their villages. Our song was called The Bones of Barrington and was all about the amazing fossils found in the old cement works.
The project culminated in an online concert where the Young Uns performed all of the amazing songs they had written with the children, and each school was presented with an award by English Heritage for the work in promoting children to understand the local history of their communities.
