Key Stage One Outdoor Learning Area
28th January 2022
Our ongoing project to develop the land to the side of the school into an outdoor learning area for all three Key Stage One Classes has taken a huge step forward over the past two weeks with the landscaping of the whole area. The muddy grass and old tarmac are gone, as are the concrete bases for the old storage sheds and we now have a beautiful area that we can set up as an outdoor classroom. We have artificial grass to ensure that we can use the area year round and a fantastic wetpour safety surface track for bikes and scooters. There is also now a built in outdoor teaching area complete with white boards and beautiful wooden chair for storytelling or teaching.
It has been slightly muddy and a little bit noisy in school while the work was going on but Red Class have leant a lot by talking to the builders about what they have been doing. Over the next few months work will continue on this area to develop it as an outdoor classroom.
