Mental Health Awareness Week
10th May 2021
The week commencing 10th May was Mental Health Awareness Week and the national theme was connecting with nature. We celebrated this with restarting the weekly forest school sessions for Red Class in the woods next to the school, and had planned to move our weekly class yoga sessions outside – but the weather was against us – it rained so hard that some of the lessons would have looked more like synchronized swimming than yoga!
The children and their families we set the Wild Week challenge to see how many different ways they could find to connect with nature. We asked them to send photos into school of what they decided to do. We had lots of photos of gardening, cycling, walking, tree climbing and even bee keeping!
