Friends of Barrington SchoolÂ
Welcome to FOBS, our school’s PTA—a friendly group of parents and teachers working together to make our school an amazing place for our children to learn and play.
Why our role matters
We believe that every child should have what they need to learn and feel happy at school. FOBS helps by providing the daily tools, the fun experiences, and the extra support that the school budget cannot always cover. By joining in, you help us enhance our school’s great foundation to create an exceptional experience where no child goes without.Â
Our goalsÂ
1. FUNDING THEIR FUTURE: Raising £30,000 together. We aim to raise and spend £30,000 this year to support our school’s growth. Â
-
Our impact: This ambitious target helps us fund big ticket items —like our recent £8,231 investment in new iPads.
2. SUPPORTING THE CLASSROOM: Better tools for learning and play. We ensure our classrooms and outdoor spaces are stocked with the essentials while also providing the "extras" that make lessons come to life.
-
Our impact: We provide £800 to every classroom annually to be spent directly on resources for the children. We pay for the things used up every day, like pencils, glue sticks, art materials, new library books, and phonics schemes. We also fund specialized equipment like science kits, musical instruments, and Lego Club gear.Â
3. BRINGING LEARNING TO LIFE: Trips, plays & immersive days. We believe that some of the best learning happens through special experiences, whether they are away from school or right in our hall. FOBS helps pay for buses, theater tickets, and visiting experts.Â
-
Our impact: We’ve recently funded adventures to Woburn Safari Park, all school theater productions like Pinocchio, and immersive workshops like our African Drumming and Ancient Egypt days! We also add a bit of magic with seasonal treats like Easter eggs for everyone!Â
How to help
There are several ways you can make a difference for our children:Â
-
Time: Volunteering at events or joining committee meetings.
-
Skills: Offering specific expertise like gardening, DIY, or social media management.
-
Presence: Simply participating and attending scheduled events.
-
Financial Support: Making direct donations if time is limited.
