Year 5 Part Time Teacher Vacancy

0.4 – 2 days a week (Thursday/Friday)

Following a period of fast growth, we are opening an additional class in September. The school will have 7 classes and single year groups for the first time in its history.

We are currently seeking a part-time Year 5 teacher to join our team. This is a job-share role where the teaching and learning responsibilities for your class will be shared with another part-time teacher. This job is suitable for ECTs and more experienced teachers.

Teaching Assistant

Barrington is a growing village school with a big heart and a strong presence in the community. Our children are the focus of everything we do and we value the mental health and wellbeing of all members of the school community above everything else. This is an exciting time at the school as we prepare to open an additional class in September 2025, creating a one-form entry class structure for the first time in the school’s history. 

Due to the rapid growth of our school, we are currently looking to appoint an additional Teaching Assistant to join our team for around 18 hours a week, starting as soon as possible. Additional hours as a lunchtime supervisor are also available. 

Our Teaching Assistants work alongside the school’s teachers to ensure the best outcomes for our pupils. The role will include working 1:1 with children who have SEND as well as supporting learning in the classroom. 

The ideal candidate would: 

  • Be fun, creative and enthusiastic.  

  • Be passionate about inclusive practice  

  • Be empathetic and maintain a calm approach  

  • Be adaptable to support the growth of our school.  

  • have a Level 2 qualification in Maths and English (or equivalent); 

  • have excellent interpersonal skills; 

  • be able to work effectively within a committed team 

  • enjoy working with children; 

The salary range for this role is Scale Points 4-6 on the Teaching Assistant Pay Scale, FTE £24,404 - £25,183 depending on experience.
